Despite its name pacu jawi (literally "bull race" or "cow race" in Minangkabau), it is not generally conducted as a direct competition between animals. Instead, each team take a turn running across the track.

Batik is a traditional process of applying wax and dyes to fabric to achieve intricate and colourful patterns. The tradition of batik is particularly prevalent on the Indonesian island of Java and was handed down from generation to generation and was usually an occupation of village women.

 In Bali umbrellas are called "Tedung". The literal meaning of tedung is 'to guard', as these ceremonial umbrellas symbolise protection. They are also said to symbolise a mountain, whose protective shade covers the land and people. The mountain of course being the pinnacle of spirituality as the abode of the Gods.

Bali, a small island in Indonesia, is widely known in the jewelry world as the home of the world's best gold and silversmiths.  Jewelry in Bali cannot be mass produced like jewelry found in other parts of the world.

Bird cages are built and sold by locals. The bird cage was a symbol of the woman's virginity, which was intact, if the bird was still in the cage.  While to some, an empty birdcage represents freedom.

In some regions, hand -carver wooden mask are used in theatrical performances. while in others they are believed to have spiritual or supernatural powers and are used to ward off evil spirits or to bring luck,​
