The first time that I captured images of the Auroras was in Alaska.  I have traveled to Iceland, Norway, Churchill and the Canadian Rockies since to capture them.  If you don't mind being out in the cold weather during the night, the experience will be rewarding, just to see it, even it you are not photographing them.
