North America's easy access keeps me coming back for more.  The Canadian Rockies is one of  my favorite places for landscapes. However, traveling throughout  the continent, during  different seasons provides endless landscapes and festival opportunities

I am often asked "Which is my favorite National Park?" I cannot answer that without sharing that I like different parks for different reasons. For wildlife, I love Yellowstone, Katmai and Lake Clark, each for different reasons.

Chicago offers a lot to a photographer.  The people, the architecture, the lakefront and the changing seasons offer so many opportunities. I find myself creating long exposure, monochrome images often. 

My two trips to Africa were mainly for the wildlife experience. While in Tanzania I was fortunate to spend a night with a Maasai tribe where I captured and learned about some of their customs and culture.

While briefly in Rwanda, I stayed at the Hotel des Mille Collines and visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial. 

It was fun to photograph the castles in Scotland. The castles in Wales and England did nothing for me (not that I am a castle person).   I could have spent more time in London.  Visiting Iceland never gets old. As a photographer the vistas and the views are awesome. I may need to return to Norway in better weather.

My visit to Java and Bali Indonesia provided me with lessons about the various religions, cultural beliefs, and religious customs on each islands.  

I was also able to capture some of the landscapes which included a hike up to the top, to look down into an active volcano. I also met some great people and experiencing some great food.

With an experienced guide that understands the importance of what good lighting and a clean background means  to a photographer can make a huge difference. Compositions are up to you. 

Just the fact that I was there to experience the moment was incredible.  I am very pleased with the images that I captured, although the experience that I encountered, pales any of my images.

From a Tundra buggy tour, you will be awed seeing these magnificat creatures in the wild.  Patience is always required for photographing wildlife and nature. When dealing with weather and wildlife, there are no guarantees.  Be ready, know your equipment.

Katmai National Park is considered one of the best places to view brown bears safely.  And if want you really unique and thrilling experience. Hire a guide to escort you into the river for a different perspective.

Ninety-five percent of  brown bears in the US live in Alaska.   Both brown and black bears inhabit Lake Clark National Park, which supports a healthy and stable population.
