Travel
I have divided my travel experiences by continent. As since I have not visited all 7 continents yet, I hope it is accurate to say that both you and I have something to look forward to.
Living in the US, I spent several decades visiting US National parks and chose to make them a separate category.
In addition, since I photograph in the Chicago, IL. area often when I am not traveling, and chose to make Chicago, its own category.
Africa
Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda
My two trips to Africa were mainly for the wildlife experience. While in Tanzania I was fortunate to spend a night with a Maasai tribe where I captured and learned about some of their customs and culture.
While briefly in Rwanda, I stayed at the Hotel des Mille Collines and visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Europe
Iceland, Norway, The United Kingdom (Scotland, London,England, Wales).
It was fun to photograph the castles in Scotland. The castles in Wales and England did nothing for me (not that I am a castle person). I could have spent more time in London. Visiting Iceland never gets old. As a photographer the vistas and the views are awesome. I may need to return to Norway in better weather.
Asia
Java and Bali Indonesia
My visit to Java and Bali Indonesia provided me with lessons about the various religions, cultural beliefs, and religious customs on each islands.
I was also able to capture some of the landscapes which included a hike up to the top, to look down into an active volcano. I also met some great people and experiencing some great food.
